From the historic center to the plain of Beaucaire

From the Maison du Tourisme et du Patrimoine, go down Rue Victor Hugo and turn right onto Rue Danton, which leads you to the port of Beaucaire, where you can enjoy the view, a pretty postcard to immortalize. You will follow the canal on the Quai Général de Gaulle. At the end of the quay, you will have to dismount to cross the bridge. Then, head towards Fourques.
After passing through a traffic light and passing under the railway line, you can admire the Covered Cross. Continue to its right to reach the Beaucaire plain and the Terre d'Argence orchard by taking the Beauvoir path.
Vineyards, orchards and rice fields mark this pretty route, where you can come across many Provençal farmhouses, recognizable by their dovecotes, a symbol of wealth.
Cross-country
Take the opportunity to take a break, admire the facades and fill your baskets with jams from the Domaine du Petit Mylord, or even discover life in a Provençal farmhouse as it was in 1900 Old Mas, which will delight children looking for entertainment.
Continue the discovery of the Land of Argence by the Plain road. If you feel like it, take a detour via the Tavernel Estate, a beautiful organic wine estate. The architecture of this farmhouse is worth the detour, as are its organic wines.
After this discovery, which is pleasing to the eyes and taste buds, get back in the saddle on the Chemin de la Cabanette, which will take you through a mosaic of fields. Then turn left onto the Chemin de Saujan, then right onto the Route du Mas Maillan. Cross the Philippe Lamour canal, an irrigation canal that brings water from the Rhône to the south of the department. Gard and the east of Hérault.
Then get back in the saddle and turn right onto the old Bellegarde road, a path shared with local farmers, running alongside fields and often bordered by reed hedges. Cross the Philippe Lamour canal once again: water is omnipresent in Terre d'Argence.
Avenue du Félibrige takes you back to Bellegarde, passing in front of " A Mas in Provence ", a producer and distiller of aromatic plants. A revitalizing break awaits you: lavender, lemon balm, immortelle, and many other plants will reveal their secrets and virtues for the body and mind. You will leave the flower fields invigorated!

You can cross from one bank to the other thanks to the Charanconne bridge, a great opportunity to overlook the canal and watch the boats go by.
Beaucaire is just a few pedal strokes away. Continue along Quai de la Paix and turn left onto Avenue de la Plaine. At the roundabout, the first right takes you along the port of Beaucaire on Quai de la Paix and offers a new perspective. After the bridge, turn left just before the statue of the bull Le Clairon, the greatest cocardier of his time. Then turn right onto Quai Général de Gaulle, then left along the Banquette (the dike protecting the city from the assaults of the Rhône), onto Rue Frédéric Mistral, and finally Rue Danton to reach the Maison du Tourisme et du Patrimoine.
