The ViaRhôna, this 815 km cycle route connecting Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean, crosses varied landscapes and areas steeped in history. In the Terre d'Argence region, it follows the banks of the Rhône and offers a beautiful immersion in authentic heritage.
Focus on the key stages of this route in our region.

Beaucaire
City of Art and History

City of Art and History, Beaucaire is an unmissable stop on the ViaRhôna. The route runs along the marina and allows you to admire the magnificent quays, lined with historic buildings. In addition to the picturesque historic center with its many private mansions, you can visit the fortress of Beaucaire, its exceptional panorama and its revitalizing gardens (free entry).
It is precisely in Beaucaire and more precisely on its port that the ViaRhôna meets the Mediterranean by bike. The touring cyclist, the cycling adventurer or all lovers of the little queen are offered all possibilities:
- continue south along the Rhône, cross Fourques, explore Arles and its heritage and enter the Marais du Vigueirat,
- or branch off towards Bellegarde, pedal along the Canal du Rhône to Sète and further discover the Camargue, its fauna and flora…
Fourques, along the Rhône

The ViaRhôna follows the crests of the dikes to connect Beaucaire to the charming village of Fourques, while below the Rhône continues its peaceful course towards the Mediterranean. You can cross the river thanks to the suspension bridge of Fourques.
