Façonner la terre, avec Ceram Astèque

Presbytère 3 rue du Presbytère 30300 Vallabrègues

Museum Overview

Immerse yourself in the world of ceramics and learn to shape clay during a unique workshop.

This summer, step inside a place steeped in history and let yourself be guided through a unique artistic and sensory experience. Housed in a recently renovated former presbytery, now a vibrant space dedicated to artisans and artists, the CERAM ASTEQUE workshop opens its doors to you for a moment blending heritage, creativity, and conviviality.

The agenda for your meeting includes:

1. Discovering the site – A reinvented heritage (1 hour)
You will begin with a guided tour of the presbytery: its history, its transformation, and the dynamic craftsmanship that animates it today. A place where old stones converse with contemporary creation (the presbytery now houses a collective of 7 artists and craftspeople).

2. Creative workshop – Getting your hands dirty (2 hours)
Head to the CERAM ASTEQUE workshop of which Manon DUCRES is the founder, for an introduction to ceramics.
You will be guided step by step:
* Discover the material
* Understanding the essential steps
* Shape your own creation
A sensory and creative moment, accessible to all, where everyone gives free rein to their imagination.

3. Time for informal discussion (1 hour)
After the creative effort, it's time to relax! Over a light snack or a tasting aperitif, we'll share a moment of conversation:
* Questions about ceramics and its history
* Discussion about artisanal skills
* Debriefing of your impressions and feelings
A simple and warm time, true to the spirit of summer gatherings.

4. Visit to the workshop shop
To conclude the meeting, you will discover the workshop's collections: utilitarian and decorative pieces crafted on site, in small series or as unique pieces.

Regarding your creations
The pieces created during the workshop require several essential steps:
* Drying
* First cooking
* Enameling
* Second cooking
They will therefore be available for collection at a later date, once fully completed (all practical details will be specified during the workshop).

A complete experience
These meetings are designed to be:
* A heritage discovery of a rehabilitated site
* An immersion in the craft of art
* A friendly and authentic moment to share
