In the heart of the Roman triangle of Pont du Gard, Nîmes, Arles, the Mas des Tourelles in Beaucaire hosts a very original initiative in experimental archaeology: the exceptional reconstruction of a full-size Gallo-Roman cellar.

Immerse yourself in experimental archaeology with the self-guided tour of Mas des Tourelles: stroll through a reconstructed Roman garden and vineyard, visit the reconstructed Gallo-Roman cellar with a film screening, and taste Romanum Vinum.

SELF-GUIDED VISIT – Saturday from 9am to 12pm and from 14pm to 18pm and Sunday from 14pm to 18pm.
Between vineyards and ancient ruins, set off at your own pace on a unique journey where history and wine meet in an enchanting setting.
Visitors of all ages are invited to delve into the fascinating world of Antiquity by exploring our unique, reconstructed Gallo-Roman cellar. Discover the secrets of ancient winemaking through our experimental archaeology. Extend your experience by strolling through our reconstructed Roman garden and vineyard, and exploring our archaeological site.
And after the tour, it's time for the tasting. Dare to taste wines made according to recipes from Latin authors and let yourself be surprised by flavors inherited directly from Antiquity!

What if you went back in time to discover a real Gallo-Roman amphora manufacturing workshop?
Follow our guide and set off with him into the heart of our exceptional archaeological site.
The remains of a potter have revealed a flourishing activity during Antiquity: here thousands of amphorae were shaped and fired before being filled with wine and shipped throughout the Roman Empire.
We will reveal the secrets of this amphora production, from the modeling techniques to the firing in huge kilns.
