Mai à Vélo en Terre d'Argence

Every year, the national "May by Bike" campaign celebrates cycling in all its forms. The Beaucaire Terre d'Argence community of municipalities is part of this initiative and offers numerous activities for young and old: challenges, photo contests, balance bikes, games, discovery sessions, after-work events, duathlons…
This is the perfect opportunity to (re)discover the Terre d'Argence at the pace of two wheels, taking the time to admire the landscapes, to cross the villages of Vallabrègues, Fourques, Jonquières-Saint-Vincent, Bellegarde and Beaucaire, a city of Art and History, and to fully enjoy the mild spring weather.

PROGRAMME OF THE EVENT IN TERRE D'ARGENCE:

• "MAY BY BIKE" CHALLENGE IN TERRE D'ARGENCE
From May 1st to May 31st
Cover as many kilometers as possible by bike in May and record your journeys via the GEOVELO app.

• "SPRING" PHOTO CONTEST
Until May 25
"People's Choice" prize: a basket filled with local products!
Your bike must appear in the photo, only ONE photo per participant, taken exclusively on the cycle routes of Terre d'Argence.

• Balance bike activity for children
Wednesday, May 6th, from 9am to 11:30am
Open to all – Recommended minimum age: 18 months – Free, no registration required
Balance bike and helmet provided if needed
Location: Jonquières-Saint-Vincent Football Stadium

• BICYCLE TREASURE HUNT with the Vallabrègues Community Center
Saturday, May 9th, departure at 9:30 am
Complete the route independently using the route map – an 8KM bike loop on quiet roads and paths.
Bicycle not provided. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Free – Registration required on the Tourist Office website
Meeting point: 11 rue de la chapelle in Vallabrègues

• GUIDED BIKE TOUR “All in the saddle”
Saturdays, May 16th and 30th at 14pm
Learn the story of the Rhône-Sète Canal during a bike ride with a tour guide who will take you from the port of Beaucaire to the Nourriguier lock.

Duration: 3 hours, approximately 12km round trip.
Bicycle and helmet not provided.
Full price: €7 / Reduced price: €5 (over 60 years old, job seekers, students, residents of the CCBTA);
Free for children under 10 years old.

• A DAY ORGANIZED BY THE ENGLISH CLUB "Ze CAT"

A fun day centered around cycling and English!

• ROAD CYCLING OUTING ORGANIZED BY THE GOLDEN HANDLEBAR CLUB
Wednesday, May 27, departure at 14 p.m.
Explore the roads of the region with the Guidon d'Or cycling club. Routes adapted to the level of the participants.

• DUATHLON NATURE BIKE & KAYAK IN TERRE D'ARGENCE
Saturday, May 30th, departure at 9:30 am
Take on the challenge between land and water! (Re)discover cycling on a fully secured path before extending the adventure with a kayak trip on the canal!
Step 1: Cycling. Enjoy a safe route to cycle freely. 10 km loop.
Step 2: Kayaking. Glide, paddle, explore – the canal awaits! Supervision: Palavas Sea Kayak.
For minors, parental presence is mandatory.
Kayaking: children aged 6 years minimum and able to swim.

• BICYCLE REPAIR WORKSHOP
Sunday June 14 from 9 p.m. to 12 p.m.
Take part in a repair workshop to (re)discover the basics of maintaining your bike: fixing a puncture, adjusting the brakes and adjusting the derailleur.
Bring your own bike so you can practice directly in real-world conditions.
