Description
This recently created greenway, accessible to all, invites you to a peaceful immersion between the majestic Rhône and its tributary, the Petit Rhône. Throughout the route, nature unfolds: wetlands and ponds teem with diverse wildlife, while the riparian woodlands bordering the Petit Rhône provide a haven for a wide variety of birds. You might even encounter horses and bulls, adding to the magic of the place.
The majestic wind turbines, turned by the winds of the Rhône Valley, bear witness to the ingenious use of natural resources, as do the vast fields capturing the sun's energy. Along the way, the charming chapel of Saujan, nestled in the heart of the Beaucaire plain, offers a refreshing and serene respite.
Finally, the route ends in style on the spectacular Fourques suspension bridge, a feat of 19th-century engineering.
This route can be travelled in both directions, between Beaucaire and Fourques.
Audio guide for the route is available via the Latitude Gard smartphone app, downloadable from the App Store and Google Play.
The developed Green Route offers you a safe route, with little elevation gain and few intersections with roads.
