The river port of Beaucaire marks the beginning of the Canal du Rhône to Sète which has been a real vector of communications, transport and economic development for 200 years.
Today, you can navigate this canal at reduced speed (6 km/hour) and reach the sea. The canal crosses three Gard towns: Saint-Gilles, Bellegarde and Beaucaire.

Arriving from Aramon or Tarascon to Beaucaire, you can continue the route towards Bellegarde or towards Fourques then Port Saint Louis du Rhône.

The Nourriguier Lock
Automated, it allows you to reach the sea by navigating on the Canal du Rhône à Sète.
Locks are freely accessible from 7 a.m. to 19 p.m. Outside of these hours, access on request is still possible for professionals.
