Museum Overview

The collections of the Auguste Jacquet Museum bear witness to the cultural singularity of the city: from Roman Antiquity to the clothing fashions of the late 19th century, including the Madeleine Fair.

The Auguste Jacquet Museum is located in the listed gardens of the Beaucaire Fortress, the residence of the Counts of Toulouse. It occupies the buildings of a former convent built in the 1870s.
Labeled a Museum of France, the museum features several rooms dedicated to exploring Beaucaire and its rich past. Arranged over two levels, the museum presents collections of archaeological finds and ancient coins, and, above all, traces the rise of the town of Beaucaire, beginning with the establishment of the Foire de la Madeleine, a major trading center in the south of France.
From Antiquity to the 19th century, wander from room to room, through the history of Beaucaire and let yourself be seduced by its collections, testimony to the cultural singularity of this Rhône city.
