I'm coming by bike 🚲
You are roaming on the Viarhona :
Arriving from Avignon:
After a last look at the city of the Popes, ViaRhôna enters the Gard. The route then zigzags between vineyards and orchards before joining the Pont du Gard greenway which will take you gently to Beaucaire, a town of art and history at the crossroads of the Provence and the Camargue
Arriving from Arles :
This route connects cities steeped in history: Roman Arles and its extraordinary heritage, and Beaucaire, a City of Art and History with its beautiful river port. The ViaRhôna crosses a plain on a temporary shared road. Work is planned for 2023, and a new greenway will be built.
Arriving from Saint-Gilles:
On small roads, the route enters the beginnings of the Camargue plain amidst crops and irrigation canals.
Arriving at the port of Bellegarde, you will take a new greenway connecting the port of Bellegarde and that of Beaucaire. This one runs along the Canal du Rhône to Sète over 12 kilometers.
You are traveling the Mediterranean by bike:
Arriving from Saint-Gilles:
On this section, the Mediterranean by bike follows the same section as the ViaRhôna.
You will therefore take small roads then follow the new greenway between Bellegarde and Beaucaire.
Arriving from Cavaillon and Saint Etienne du Grès:
Crossing the Alpilles, stop at Saint-Remy-de-Provence to reach Tarascon.
You'll take the greenway between St-Rémy-de-Provence and St-Étienne-du-Grès. The section is currently being finalized; temporary signage has been put in place all the way to Tarascon. To reach Beaucaire, all you have to do is cross the bridge.
